ANZAC DAY.
To-morrow Anzac Day, will be eommerorated in Shannon by a serviee at 10 a.m. in the Maoriland Theatre, when the Rev. Mr Edmondson, of Foxton, will give an address, the loeal elergy assisting with the service. The Rev, Mr Williamson will preside. The Levin Band is to be asked to attend, also the members of the Shannon Choral Society'. After t « service in the hall an adjournment wiU be made to the Cenotaph, where wreaths and flowers will be laid, after which the National Anthem will, be eung and the “Last Post” sounded. To save confusion when leaving the hall, it has been arranged that the Band shall, leave first, to be followed by the school children, members of the Choral Society, and then the public. The school children will assemble at the school at 8-45 a.m., and at 9 a.n*» Mr G. D. Hamilton, president of the Levin branch of the Returned Soldiers Association,' will address them, the Rev Mr Farnell. conducting the service. Parents and friends are cordially invited to attend. At the conclusion of the service the scholars of the upper classes will march down to the main service. .’ "
