Even fowls have their nights out, it seems. It is on record that some* fowls that had gone to rest on the-axle of the household Ford recently had a ride to town and back before being disturbed and cast into the utter darkness of the fowlhouse. The latest incident of joy-riding on the part of members of the feathered tribe was witnessed in ©roadway, Stratford, on Saturday night. This time something more toney than a flivver was chosen 9 by three white Leghorn pullets to go: to town. As the big car pulled round the silent policeman at Regan Street and came to a stop at the regulation parking angle, the crowd evineed keen interest in the incident, and it was a grinning reception that the driver was given when the stepped out of the car om to the sidewalk. The presence l of his feathered friends was soon dis* covered, must to his surprise and chargin. There was a sound of squawking as a protest against being disturbed at that hour of the night and ignominiously tied up and tossed intothe back of ,the car, but it soon subsided. Then only did the inquisitive 'bystanders go about theiT own business; —Elfcham Argus.
