SPORTING NOTES.
One of the most promising jockeys is “Turoa” (Arthur) Webster, son of the genial “Dug.” This lad has been riding remarkably well ever since his first appearance in the saddle at the last Otaki meeting. He seldom rides at a gathering without'gaining a place, and at Taulierenikau at Easter was often called upon to salute the judge. The boy not only usos his hands and legs, but he makes go.od use of his head, and under such a capable trainer as his father he should soon be among the leading, jockeys.
