GOLF NOTES.
Although the opening day' for the Shannon Gold Club was set down for to-morrow it has been found necessary, owing to the dry conditions, to postpone this event for at least a iveck; when it is hoped the greens and fairwavs will be in much better state. The season promises to be a particularly good one, and the several new players will find the local course of great interest. There will be a meeting of the golf committee at the golf house to-morrow, at 2 p.ro. A full meeting is requested.
