BUCKLEY DRAINAGE BOARD.

A meeting of the Buckley Drainage Board was held on Wednesday to confirm a resolution passed at a meeting held on the 10th March, that the sanction of the Local Bodies’ Loans Board be obtained to, take a poll of the ratepayers on a proposal to borrow £IOOO for deepening the Koputaroa and £2OOO for banking the same. Present: Messrs B. W. Taylor (chairman),: R. Law, R. Spoils, J. Eggington and 11. E&ston. Tlie proposal to borrow £IOOO for deepening, to be paid for on the classification of the Koputaroa subdivision, was confirmed. The confirmation of the resolution to borrow £2OOO for banking was adjourned to a later meeting, to enable the Board to ascertain in the meantime, if certain parties are prepared to contribute in maintaining certain portions of the Manawatii river* bank and the, banking of the Manawatu stream.
