BUCKLEY DRAINAGE BOARD.
A meeting of the Buckley Drainage Board was held on Wednesday to confirm a resolution passed at a meeting held on the 10th March, that the sanction of the Local Bodies’ Loans Board be obtained to, take a poll of the ratepayers on a proposal to borrow £IOOO for deepening the Koputaroa and £2OOO for banking the same. Present: Messrs B. W. Taylor (chairman),: R. Law, R. Spoils, J. Eggington and 11. E&ston. Tlie proposal to borrow £IOOO for deepening, to be paid for on the classification of the Koputaroa subdivision, was confirmed. The confirmation of the resolution to borrow £2OOO for banking was adjourned to a later meeting, to enable the Board to ascertain in the meantime, if certain parties are prepared to contribute in maintaining certain portions of the Manawatii river* bank and the, banking of the Manawatu stream. "Willi reference to the Board’s administration charges, the clerk was instructed to prepare a statement of administration costs for the year ending March 31st, 1928, to March 31st 1929; it being understood by the meeting that the three sub-divisions would pay towards the cost of administration. '
It was resolved that all timber, excepting the old bridge timber, be sold to Mr Booker. '
The . Board decided that Mr Hay he asked to make an inspection, if necessary, from the Koputaroa floodgate to the river and await further instructions .regarding his visit to Wellington to place the Board’s proposals, etc., before the Local Bodies Loans Board.
