ON LEGS.

THE HIGH VISIBILITY OF STOCKINGS. - t One of the “silly season” topics to which the Loudon Express recently, devoted a large amount of space was on a discussion of women’s legs and whether they should or shouldn’t be-dis-played. The newspaper stalked the trouble by declaring that the recent \ era of high visibility stockings has made it only too apparent that few women possess beautiful legs, and-that, from the aesthetic point of view a return to longer skirts would be desirable. There are, it estimated, seven distinct species of legs on* view in London, six of them the. better for concealment. For,the benefit of intending tourists the’ tabulation is given here-! with:— 1. The Sheraton (spindly). 2. The oak table (elephantine). 3. The dwarf Jacobean (massive). 4. Normal nondescript. 5. Balloon (obvious). 6. William and" Mary (knock-kneed). . 7. Symphonic (as in the hosiery ads.)
