MR T. F. GIBSON RESIGNS.

PRESIDENCY OF CHAMBER OF COMMERCE. A letter was received by the Levin Chamber of Commerce last evening from its president, Mr T. F. Gibson, resigning from membership as he had sold his business and intended leaving the district. In his communication, Mr Gibson, who was unable to attend the meeting owing to work connected with the change-over, stated that he had appreciated the loyalty of the Chamber and especially of those members ,who had gathered at the table from time to time to transact business and watch the interests of the town and district. He trusted that the Chamber would continue its usefulness and that the Lunch Club would have a greater measure of success. The acting-chairman (Mr. B. Magee) spoke of Mr Gibson’s valuable services to the Chamber over a number of years. Mr P. W. Goldsmith moved that a letter be sent to Mr. Gibson expressing appreciation of his services both, to the Chamber and to town and district interests as a whole, and regretting that liis association with the Chamber was coming to an end; also wishing him success in all that he might undertake in the future.

The motion was seconded by Mr J. Harvey and carried. The position devolves upon the Vicepresident (Mr C. S. Keedwell) until the annual meeting, to be held in June.
