MANGAORE NOTES.
Mr. and Mrs S. C. Collinge are at present holidaying at the Waikanae Beach. Mr. C. L. Stevenson, of the Lake Coleridge Power Station Staff, has been appointed Testing Engineer at Mangaore and took over his duties last week. . Miss Rene Jay who has been visiting her parents returned to Greymouth on Monday. - Mr. F. Goldsmith, who was operated for " appendicitis in the Palmerston North Hospital last week, is reported to be progressing favourably. Mr. PI. J. Better, who has been m hospital, resumed duties at the Power Station on Monday. On Saturday the Mangaore Tennis team tried conclusions with the Shannon Club and were defeated by 18 sets to 3. Members of the team appreciated O ie outing muchly. Mr. F. S. Burgis, of the Station Staff, has been appointed Power Station Superintendent at Lake" Waikaremona, and he and his family will be leaving at an early-date. • The annual Sunday School Picnic which was held at Hokio Beach during the -week-end, proved a huge success, all and sundry having a good
time. ' , „ Mr D, Hardie, who has been ofheer-in-eharge of the P.W. Canteen at Man* gahao, has been transferred to the Auckland district'kiiul will leave early next week-to take up his new duties. On Saturday next, the Mangaore Tennis Club will send a team of gentlemen and ladies to Mangaliao in a return match. Mangaliao Club are out to avenge their defeat of two weeks ago.
