MANGAORE NOTES.
Mr H. T. Hartley, chief clerk, was a passenger for by the S.S. Marama last week, on holiday bent. Mr. and Mrs W. Stock and family left for Palmerston North on Wednesday to take up their future residence, i Miss Ada Gagliardi, of the Wellington Hospital Nursing Staff, was a visitor last week-end.
Welcome rain showers fell intermittently last Sunday. Unfortunately it was not enough, as King Sol took up the reins again. . Mr. W. Dykesr, Departmental Inspector of Machinery, is on official duties at Mangahao. f On Monday last, Mr. Frank Goldsmith was admitted to the Palmerston North Hospital suffering .'(from symptoms of appendicitis. Mr. C. E. Fenwick, of Canterbury College, who has been gaining practical experience on the scheme, returned to Christchurch last week-end. Messrs I. R. Robinson, A. R. Blackwood and T. M. Wright, are at .present attending the Institute of Civil Engineer 's Conference at Wellington. Next Saturday the Mangaore Tennis Club will try conclusions with the Shannon Tennis Club in their annual match. The following will represent the Mangaore Club: Men. —H. Symons, J. F. Ostler, W. B. King, N. M. Porter, J. 8. Burgis, K. E. Y. Logan. Ladies: —Mesdames J. F. Ostler, \Y. B. King, C. E. Elvines, xi. V. Eban, Misses C. Blackwood and. F. Robinson.
