WOMEN’S CHRISTIAN TEMPERANCE UNION.

A meeting was held in the Methodist Church,' Shannon, on Thursday afternoon to consider the inauguration of a local branch of the W.C.T.U. Miss A. M. MeLay, Dominion Organiser, addressed a small gathering of ladies, and it was' decided to form a branch in Shannon. The first meeting will be held on Thursday, March Btli, at 2.30 p.m., in the Methodist Church, and Mrs Perynian, of Foxton, editor of the Union’s official publication, the “White Ribbon,” will address - the meeting.
