DISTRICT STREET LIGHTING.
TO BE CUT OUT. The Tlerowhcmui Electric Power Board has issued the folbwiuy letter ro local bodies: — "Street Lighting. —Through the serious position which has arisen at Man-o-ahao, the Public Works Department insists that all the Boards throughout the district, reduce their loads by 2l) per cent, between the hours of 7 a.m. and II p.m. "To help to this end it has been decided, for the present at anyrate, to cut out all street lighting. It is hoped that whilst the moonlight Is favourable, no very serious inconvenience will be caused "to the Boroughs and townships throughout the Board's district. "When the weather breaks and rain comes, the whole situation will be relieved and normal conditions can be brought about.—Yours faithfully. I\ W. GOLDSMITII, eceretnry.''
