WEDDING.
GUNNING —DAVIS. A wedding that occasioned much interest took place at the Church of England, Shannon, on Wednesday, the 11th inst., when Miss Jessie Evelyn, daughter of Mr and Mrs William Davis, of Sheehan Street,. Shanon, was married to Noel Athol, third son of Mr and Mrs W. 11. Gunning, of Shannon, the ceremony being performed by the Rev. Farnell, Mrs Cane presiding at the organ. The church was prettily decoiatcd for the occasion. The bride, who was escorted by her father, was attired in a frock of ivory brocade with a handsomely embroidered veil with pearls and orange blossoms and she carried a shower bouquet. The bridesmaid was Miss Dorothy Davis, sister of the bride, who wore shell pink crepe de chine, trimmed daintily with pink and mauve ribbon. She carried a bouquet of lovely flowers to tone. The duties of best man were carried out by Mr Pat Cole. After the marriage ceremony a reception was held at the home of the bride's parents. Mrs Davis, mother of the bride, received the gufcsts, wearing a handsome gown of floral crepe de chine and lace with hat to tone, and carrying a bouquet of deep cream roses. The reception room iyas decorated in pink and mauve. The bride and bridegroom left by car for the north, the bride travelling in a smart navy ensemble with hat of fawn and shoes to match. The newly- married couple were the recipients of numerous presents. The bridegroom's present to the bride was a solid leather suit case, and to,the bridesmaid a wristlet watch.
