TO WED A PRINCE
Permission has been given by Mr. Henry Palmer, father of Miss Hilda Palmer the Toronto dancer, to marry a wealthy Persian Prince, subject to three conditions: — • « 1. That there ar e handsome marriage settlements. 2. That she be permittedfto America every year. 3. That the husband in no way inter fere with her religion. The bridegroom to be is H.I.H. Prince Farid, a-relative of the ex-. Shah. Prince Farid is, said to own , a wonderful palac e in Teheran, and has- been travelling in Europe and America for several years. To the •'Central News" Miss Palmer told the story of her romance. '•1 met the Prince in Victoria," she said. "Farid saw me on the stage, and (as he told m e afterwards) admired my smile. He obtained an introduction and wanted to take me out, but I would not go. Then the other day, he asked m e to marry him and T replied 'Perhaps.' No one was in the secret, only mother and dad. The Prince is such a dear, with the lovliest eyes imaginable." On arriving at the Toronto home to claim his bride, the Prince brought some magnificent presents, including a pearl necklace said to be worth a king's ransom.
