NOTES.
There is nothing to equai the charm of a roseleaf pillow if you suffie' from sleeplessness. Pick up th e fallow rose petals and dry them in the sun while you make a cover to slip them into. The cover may be of unbleached calico or of the richest satin—the charm will be the same. Scent the roseleaves with some essence of musk, cram them into the cover, and then sew the end up.
Gilt frames need very gentle treat-' 1 ment during cleaning. Whatever the medium used, apply it lightly with a sponge, or a soft brush. Carbonate of soda is good, a teaspoonful to a breakfastcupful of warm water. Brush on this liquid and then follow with gentle rinsing with plain water, warm and alsoffghtly applied with a brush. Dab dry with a soft, clean rag.
