EXTENSION OF ELECTRIC LINES
OKUKU ROAD, MAKERUA, TO BE SERVED. A report as to the proposed extension of the electric service in Okuku lioad, iUakorua, was received by the Power Board on Tuesday from its engineer (iMr J. A. Smith). It Avas as ffdlows:— ''The estimated cost of erecting tiie 11.000 A*olt line with the necessary transformer and L.T-. lines to serve consumers as far as Mr Spiers' house, is about, £690; and the estimated revenue from assured consumers is about £l2l 10s .per year; but ft is expected that another house and milking shed will be erected next season, also another small drainage pump, which ' would bring the revenue up to about £IOB per year, "It is expected that a 20 or 25 h.p. drainage pumping plant will be installed near Mr Wall's woolshe'd in the near future. The revenue that would \ be received from this installation has not been included in the above estimate. "The construction of this line could be started after the holidays." The chairman moved that authority be given for the construction of the Okuku Road line, and the motion was carried. A ■ ■>'#!
