ASSEMBLED BY THE NEW ZEALAND PLANT. On the 19th April of this year, afte; assembly operations at the Petone Plant of General Motors New Zealand, Limited, had been in operation only. some nine months, the building of the 1000th Chevrolet Avas celebrated by a picnic for the 380 Ncav Zealanders who find employment with this neAV Dominion industry. Now, with another nine months' Avorl accomplished, according to figures jus released, a further 2000 Chevrolets hnvi been built up by New Zealand labourbringing the grand total up to 30th cars for eighteen months' operation. Responding to an unprecedented de maud created -by the announcement oi the new model'Chevrolet in October production on this car has been runnni}. to the record height of over 400 cars : month. • J These figures deal with Chevrolet only, there being, in addition, seven oth'or makes of General Motors can which are handled at the Petone works.
