INDEPENDENT LIBERAL TO CONTEST IT. Mr P. J. Small, of Kairanga, has announced his intention of standing as a candidate for the Manawatu seat as an Independent Liberal at the next general election. Mr Small is a well-known and esteemed resident of the Kairanga, where he lias spent 35 years as a successful faimer and participated in many movements for the progress and welfare of the district. He has a lengthy list of public services to his credit, and at the, present time is chairman of the Manawatu Land Drainage Board, chairman of the Kairanga Dairy Company, chanman of the Kairanga School Committee, a member of the Kairanga County Council, and a past- chairman qf that luidv, a member of the Mauawatu-Oroua Power Board, and also Dominion President oF the Dairy Farmers’ Union,— Palmerston Times. :
