Mr Jones asked for information as to the future holding of sports; he understood that meetings would be held in Levin in two successive years.
The chairman stated this was the arrangement. The Otaki Gluo had offered, if Levin’s support was forthcoming for the Boxing Day meeting, to run meetings in two seasons here. Mr Irwin said the understanding was that, failing Levin forming a club and holding a meeting on New Year’s Day, the Otaki Club would hold a second meeting. Mr Jones said he had understood that if the local guarantees were secured, the Otaki Club would run two meetings here, and that the New Year’s Day meeting would be for the benefit of the formation of a local club.
The chairman stated that, this was correct.
Mr Jones said it was agreed also that in the following season the two clubs would hold two meetings in one Aveek, in order to keep the riders in Levin, and such meetings would be run on a fifty-fifty basis. The chairman stated that he'would have the agreement properly drawn up, so that it could be signed. He did not think that the Otaki Racing Club would grant the use ot its course again. The folloAving Avere elected as the Levin committee:—Messrs Evan Jones, L. S. Carmichael, J. Smith, H. R. Varnham, D. Fox, T. Collins, W. J. Ryder, J. Millies, E. Henderson, C. H. Bould, G.
