LEVIN STOCK MARKET
The weekly stock sale held at the, Levin yards Tuesday was well attended. Messrs Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report that a' small yarding of sheep and pigs and a medium entry of cattle came forward. They quote as follows: Sheep.—Wethers. 225. Cattle. —Eat cows. £5 to £7; forward cows, £2 Is to £3 12s 6d; potter bulls, £3 to £1 7s (id; empty heifers, £2. Pigs.—Slips, 21s to 225; light porkers, 29s to 30s; medium porkers, 345.
The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., report that, at the Levin sale on Tuesday, 13th inst., they offered a small entry of sheep and a good yarding of cattle and pigs, all of which met with a ready sale; and *a total clearance was made at the following prices:— Sheep.—Medium 2-tooth wethers, 22s od, fat woolly ewes 30s (id, shorn ewes 20s, medium woolly hoggets 28s 6d.
Cattle. —Eat cows £5 to £7 12s 6d, fat heifers £5 12s (id. to £7 7s Od, forward condition cows £3 to £4 7s Od, store cows £1 15s to £2 Os, store heifers £3 7s Od, vealers £2 to £2 15s, yearling Jersey cross heifers- £3 Os to £3 10s, coloured Jersey heifers 30s to £3, good Jersey weaner heifers £2 9s to £3, bulls £2 to £6.
Pigs.—Porkers 30s to 38s, choppers 39s to ,445, stores 22s Gel to 28s 6d, weaners 11s Od to 19s.
