FEILDING DEFEATED BY ONE POINT. The most coveted trophy in bowling circles on this coast —-the Dixon Cupf—caiue to Levin on Saturday as the result of a paid to Feilding by a local link.' The match was a most exciting one and was only decided when the last bowl had been played, the visiting skip putting up a beautiful shot that, cut out two Feilding bowls and gave the visitors the-two points they needed. The team from Levin consisted of Messrs J. H. Holdaway, W. Bull, P. Clements, junr., and M. J. Sulian (skip), and the holders were R. Ross, J. Bartholomew, W.' Quayle, J. Herdman (skip). In the early part, of the game Levin went away with ilie lead, and at the sth head were 9 up, Feilding not having scored at that period. Feilding ’cored on the next three heads, the card then reading 9 —6 in Levin’s favour. Levin led by a small margin until the 20th head, " where Feilding scored 3 and for the first time led by 1 point. The last head was most exciting, Feilding lead drew the shot. Holdaway put a useful bowl behind kitty, and Feilding ’3 No. 2 carried the jack back to the.
