AN EARLY COLLISION
The first collision between two cars in England was probably one which occurred on November 16, 1901, between Mr. 0. H. Bayldon’s Beading steam car and a Mors belonging to the Roadway Autocar Company. The smash occurred on the occasion of the annivesary run to Southsea, and had a sequel in the law courts, possibly because Mr. Bayldon was insured—a great rarity at this period—while the Mors was not. The barrister representing the Mors owner made some pointed suggestions about the s clouds of steam emitted bj the Reading car, but the r'ury awarded Mr. Bayldon £IOO damages. ’
