VEN. BEDE'S BAZAAR.

The annual Bazaar held by the Ladies' Guild of Von. Bede's Church in the Druids' Hall on Friday and Saturday did, not attract the public as on previous occasions, the tightness of the nioney market and the unfavourable weather no doubt being responsible. This is to be regretted as the ladies of the Guild during, the winter months have devoted much of their time in preparing articles for the bazaar and the small attendance was not very encouraging, although those who did attend purchased liberally. The stalls ' had been tastefully arranged and decorated, each being loaded with tempting aid useful articles, while the different stallholders, under the supervision of the Rev. Mr. Farncll, conducted a number of competitions, all using their best endeavours to increase their takings. Though the bazaar was not the success anticipated so far as public support, the organisers are to be complimented on the effort they made and the harmonious manner in which they all worked together. Owing to unforeseen circumstances Mr. Alfred Seifert who was to officially open the bazaar, was unable to be present. Following were the stallholders, who had assistance of a number of helpers: — i Fancy Stall: Mesdames h. Spencer and W. Davis. Plain work and Toy stall: Mesdames Hallam and Drake.
