MANGAHAO MEDICAL SERVICE

Representatives of the Palmerston Hospital Board conferred with mepibers of the Mangaliao Medical Committee and Dr. Be l at Shannon on Thursday morning. The conference was presided over by Mr. J. K. Hornblow. Matters in connection with the continuation of the subsidised medical scheme for a further period were discussed at length and a resolution was carried recommending’the Board to continue the scheme until March next and that the Minister for Public Works be requested to continue a grant in aid to the end of the period. It was also recommended to dispense with the services of the district nurse at an early date as the reduction of workmen within the next twe months would not warrant a continuation of lier services. The recommendations of the conference will be submitted to the next meeting of the Hospital Board. A further conference between the parlies to which representatives of the Shannon Borough Council and Chambei of Commerce will be invited, will take place in March. '
