Novar is Awapuhi’s one representa-' tive in the Levin Cup to' run on the 19th, while Mireusonta and Royal Land are entrants for the ‘big six. Sever*! of the hacks double engagements, but Powhiri and Blimp are fresh entrants in the Mako Mako Handicap, run over six furlongs.

In view of the fact that the Te Ivuit Racing Club failed to obtain a permil to race on the Te Awamutu racecourse, it has abandoned any intention to race until after the Ghristmas holidays. Archon, the winner of the Highweight at Waverley, had been turned out prior to the fixture, but the arrival of rain decided his trainer to bring him in for the event,'•a decision which was encouraged by a half-mile gallop on the day prior to the meeting. He returned a very appreciable price to his limited number of backers.
