A FRIEND TO CHILDREN
Miss Sharman, an old lady of 95, who lives in a quiet square in crowd l ed Southwark, England, has run an orphanage there for over 60 years without once advertising for subscriptions or getiing into debt. “Money ha s been given to me simply in’ answer to prayer," she says. Tlie orphanage which cost £25,000‘t0 build began almost by accident. Miss . Sharman, who kept a little school in the house of her parents, undertookthe charge of two small girls who 5 would otherwise have had to go to the workhouse: Neighbours persuaded her tb take others; now there are 200 and the orphanage has several branches.
