DOOR RATTLE IN THE FORD
The Ford is not the only car which is subject to rattles, but many Ford owners will agree that the rear door in this make t of car is prone to emit unorthodox noises unless some precautions are taken. If the rear doors of the Ford persistently rattle and refuse to remain shut when the ca r is driven over rough roads, the difficulty may be generally traced to sagging of the back part of the body, which fault tends to pull the doors away from' the front part The remedy is to see that the two front and two centre body bolts are perfectly tight, and then to remove the two rea r bolts, and to have a helper employ a steel bar to get behind the car and l : ft the body off the frame as far as. possible. Flat steel washers should next be inserted on the bolts between the body and the frame. This procedure will almost invariably prove effective, but sometimes it will be found necessary to employ new and longer bolts.
