The overseer (Mr. W. H. Miles) reported as follows for the past month: Repairs to Campbell's flood gate had been completed and ten chains of Craw's vegetation drain had been cleaned put. ' The No. 5 Special Loan Account work in Messrs. Tippler's j Carter's and Williams' ground had - been completed and there was still a small balance standing to this account The flood gate on Liggins' and Loughnan's boundary drain was broken and would require the addi > tion of two iron plates. The report further' expressed the opinion that no more of these large concrete gates should be used in these jobs as they were unsuitable, for the required pur-
poses. : ; i The/ left bank of the Tokomaru stream on the side of Liggins' and Loughnan's boundary drain had subsided considerably in two places ana would require building up as the bank at' these two points was only abom five feet high. Some timber had been removed from Selfert's main drain at it was blocking the flow of water. The protection work in Coley's had been completed and the bank was now in a satisfactory condition. The balance of the tram rails required had been procured from Mr. H;; Akers and there was now a stock of from 40 or 50 on hand in case of need.
