White, headed the : winning owner's list with the Trentfoam owner-trainer, Mr. A. Goodman, being second with £250 from the victory of Ceft in the Ling Memorial ■ ' Stakes on the opening day. Mr. F. S. *. Easlton, of Fox ton, also topped the £2OO mark, the success of Rouex in - the Teone Makitonore Memorial Stakes :' on Saturday bringing him in £205 in ■; stake money. Training honours passed to Palmerston North, G. New, who has been en- '-, joying a most successful run since the new season opened, presenting three winners at the fixture, Crown Area and Duke Abbey winning for him the first s, day, while Crown Area again captured f the sprint race on Saturday. A further Awapuni success was achieved by Kilmiss, trained by E. Watson, thus making four victories to Palmerstontrained horses. Trentham stables furnished three'winners, J. Ayers, A. Good- - man and H. L. Kingan each gaining a single success with their charges. J. •Procter and F. J. Carmont, of Foxton, ■- each turned out a winner as did. the Hawera mentors, J. Brown and J. Fryer.
