SHANNON CHORAL SOCIETY.
Another very important rehearsal will be held by the Shannon Choral Society next Thursday, when every member is asked to be present. The soloists or their understudies will be present and if any member cannot be present will they please notify the conductor or secretary as there is an important business meeting that concerns the. whole society. Owing to unforeseen eircumstanceo the soloists arranged for "Merrie England, ""oil Shannon, October 13, will be replaced by the following:—Miss Naomi Whallcy, soprano, Palmerston North; Miss Nora Green, contralto, recently from England; Mr Garde Grimshaw, tenor, Palmerston North; Mr J. D. Brown, baritone, Levin; Mr F. C. Lemmon, bass, Levin. Miss Whalley and Miss. Green are the leading soloists on October 12th, at Napier, the night before Shannon, so will be in excellent form.
At the last practice of the society, the conductor, Mr Howard Andrew, on behalf of the choir,wished Miss Small every success on her departure for Napier. Miss Small has been a useful member'of the soeiety and a very good attender. '
