THE CHALLENGE OF THE CITY. “The City,” a powerful drama of human destfhies and desires, adapted for Fox Filins from the melodrama by Clyde Fitch, will be screened in Shannon on Saturday. Walter McGrail is seen at his best in the role made famous by Tully Marshall. Robert Frazer- plays the part of the young attorney, whose ambitions take him to the city, but who is not able to cope with the conditions that surround him there. Nancy Nash, a new find of Fox Films, plays the - ingenue lead, May Allison lias an important role and Richard Walling is east as the boy in the picture. R. William Neill directed the production, weaving into it all those tiny details so necessary to make a perfec: picture. > | “BUTTERFLIES IN THE RAIN.” Something new in spicy modern pictures is offered for Monday* .when “Butterflies in the Rain” is the current feature, with Miss Laura La Plante and Janies Kirkwood. Miss La Plante glides through the picture like a beautiful comet throwing .an aura of fascinating -sheen about' herself. The petite, blonde, bedimpled star has never appeared more beautiful or shown herself to be a beter actress than in “Butterflies in the Rain.” James Kirkwood gives an admirable portrayal of an aristocratic gentleman, unaffected by the modern upsetting of conventions. He makes the perfect idealist and carried out his part with the perfection of technique that one v; has come to expect of Kirkwood. ;
