STERN TEST ON WEDNESDAY.
Wednesday’s match is recognised as the most searching test the Manawhcnua team will be put to this season and a great deal of interest is being taken in it in this district. A big exodus of enthusiasts is expected to Palmerston to see the game. Excursion fares will be available on the railways from' Paekaknriki and intermediate stations. OTAGO-MANAWHENUA MATCH. The Otago representative team will arrive by the Napier train on Monday next, in readiness to meet Manawhenua on Wednesday on the Levin Domain. The visiting team will stay at the Grand Hotel, and will take their departure the day after the match. The Manawhenua team rvill assemble at Levin on Monday, and will stay at the Levin Hotel. It. is their intentior to go into training on the two days before the match. NASH CUP COMPETITION. FIXTURES FOR SATURDAY, The first round in the Nash Cup fixtures will be played on Saturday next. The games, grounds and referees will be as under: — Awahou v. Wanderers, at Foxton. Referee, Mr J. Ilopa. Weraror v. Hui Mai, at. Levin. Referee, Mr E. Bevan. Shannon v. County, at Shannon. Referee, Mr K. Davis.
