SHANNON CROQUET CLUB.
The annual meeting of the Shannon Croquet Club Avas held in the Club's Pavilion on Tuesday and there Avas a good attendance of members present.
The balance' sheet and report Avas read, the balance sheet shoAving a credit balance which xv&st most satisfactory as the rent of greens had been raised and top dressing of green done. The election of officers took place as folloAvs:
President. —Mrs Mason. Vice-President.—Mrs Franks. Sec. and Treasurer. —Mrs J. S. Spen-
Club Captain.—Mrs McLachlan. Committee. —Mesdames Aim, Clayton, Pickard, Roacli and Watterston. Trophies were Avon during the season by Mrs Franks for most challenge matches, and Mrs Harding for the most improved player. Th.e Ladder Matches proved very interesting and it is hoped the same interest will be given again to ladder matches.
It Avas arranged that the opening day be fixed for the same day as the opening of the BoAvling Club. Mrs Spenccv and Mrs Mason were appointed to attend th-3 annual meeting of the Croquet Association in Palmerston on Thursday. A hearty vote of thanks Avas passed lo the boAvlers for top-dressing of greens, and to Mr. KnjAvles for the attention given the greens during the season, whie'i Avere really kept in good order, considering the greens Avere not grassed evenly. A vote of thanks Avas also passed to Mrs. Pranks and Mrs Aim, the retiring President.
