MAORI BALL.

ENJOYABLE FUNCTION. The Maori Ball which has now become aa annual affair, was held in the Druids' Hall on Friday evening and despite the miserable weather, there was a large attendance, many visitors coming from Levin, Foxton and neighbouring townships. The hall had been specially decorated in colours of blue and reel. In the centre a huge paper •bell was suspended, from which the coloured streamers were carried across the building and this with the fancy shades on the lights and the many coloured electric light globes, presented a gay effect. The duties of Master of Ceremonies was capably carried out by Messrs Poaneke and T. Kohika, the first class music by Larkins' Orchestra adding largely to the pleasure of the dances. An excellent sit-down supper was provided, which was under the supervision of Mesdames Whibley and W. Satherley, who were assisted bv a number of young ladies.
