MAORILAND THEATRE.

"THE LILY." For beauty in settings, for mastery in direction and for acting of the first rank, "The Lily," Fox Films striking version of David Belasco's noted stage success, is unsurpassed. It will be screened on Saturday. Belle Bennett, who needs no introduction to picture patrons; plays the loading role in the drama, which is primarily a story of sister love. Bennett gives' a performance which rings with sincerity. She is a great motion picture actress if ever there was one. Sheplays the part of daughter of a greedy, tyrannous count, who has never permitted her to marry. When the father steps in and attempts to jeopardize the love affair of another daughter;, "the lily," (Miss Bennett) upbraids the old man in an intensely dramatic scene.

How "the lily" finally finds love after overcoming great obstacles; and how she helps her sister along the troubled road of romance, form a climax which bring a tear or two to the surface. "THE DENVER DUDE." When "Rodeo" Randall, broncho busting champion, set out on a little vacation trip all by himself, lie ran into more adventure than the ordinary mortal encounters in a lifetime. He first rescued a shipment of £6OOO from two bandits, the circumstances of which prompted him to change his raiment and his name to match. The next was when he represented himself as the messenger guarding the money in order to be near Patricia La Mar, the daughter of his father's dearest enemy.

After that things really began to happen. The safe in the ranch store where "Rodeo" was employed was looted, the blame laid to "Rodeo's" door with a resultant arrest.

Escaping, clad in kilts filched from his guard, who had fallen into an inebriated slumber, "Rodeo" set out in pursuit of the men he suspected as the safe robbers, employing an untamed horse for the chase just to make things more interesting. The climax is the fastest moving, and the most exciting thing you will see on the screen for a long time to come, and if you think there's nothing new in picture finishes, just come and see Hoot Gibson in "The Denver Dude" on Monday.
