WEDDING BELLS
McSAVNEY—RICHARDSON
The marriage of Miss Marjorie Richardson, only daughter of Mr and Mrs James Richardson, of Shannon, to Gordon, son of Mr .and Mrs McSavney, also of Shannon, was solemnised on Wednesday afternoon at Yen. Bede’s Church by Rev. Parnell. The church, which was prettily decorated for the occasion, was crowded with friends. The bride was very daintily attired in a petalled frock of soft white satin over a flounced slip of silver lace and georgette and wore an embroidered tulle veil and coronet of peals and orange blossoms. She was attended by her twin cousins, the Misses Alison and Audrey Pees, as bridesmaids, who wore petalled frocks of pale pink and blue taffeta respectively, each wearing head bands of tulle and tinted leaves to match. The Misses Rona and Lois Easton, twin nieces of the bridegroom, acted as flower girls, wearing petalled frocks of mauve taffeta and headbands of gold leaves, each wearing a string of pearls, the gift of the bridegroom. Mr Lawrence Richardson, brother of the bride, acted as best man, and Mr Frank Jamieson as groomsman. Bouquets carried by the bride and her maids, which were much admired, were made by Mr A. Braclfield, of Palmerston North. After the ceremony the parents of the bride entertained the guests at a sumptuous repast in the Parish Hall, where the usual toasts were proposed and duly honoured, at the conclusion of which the bridal couple left by car on their honeymoon, the bride wearing a tailored tweed costume with fur choker and hat to match. ...
