Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report: At Feilding on Friday we had a good entry of both sheep and cattle. Sheep were in keen demand and fats sold at slightly better prices than at previous sale. Our cattle entry comprised mostly dairy stock which sold at late rates. Some pens of bullocks failed to find buyers. We quote: — Sheep. —Fat wethers, 29s sd, 32s 3d, to 345; fat ewes, 21s, 21s 3d, 245, 24s 7d, 26s Bd, 29s Id, 30s 6d to 35s Id; fat black faces, 34s 3d; fat hoggets, 21s, 23s 3d, 24s to 275; 4 and 5-year ewes in lamb to S.D. rams, 265, 27s 6d, to 31s; 4 and 6-tootli ewes in lamb to Romney rams, 28s 6d; ewe hoggets, 22s Id, 22s 10d, to 28s Id; whether hoggets, 225, 23s 7d; black faced hoggets, 19s Id.
Cattle. —Fat cows, £3 15s, £4 2s Gd to £4 7s 6d; fat heifers, £3 2s 6d; empty cows, £2 15s, £3 ss; store cows, £1 10s to £3; weaner heifers, £2 6s to £2 15s; yearling heifers. £2 17s, £2 18s, £3 Is; springing cows, £5 15s, £6, £8 15s, £9; springing heifers, £6, £6 17s 6d, £7 to £11; pedigree Jersey springing heifer, £lB 18s.
CLEARING SALE
Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report: We conducted a clearing sale at Mr D. S. Kingston’s (Awahuri-Feilding road) on Wednesday. There was a good attendance of the public and a total clearance was effected. The 27 cows, although late calvers, realised prices upto £lO and averaged £7 per head. Porkers, £2 11s, sows, £6, £7 and sundries sold at good prices. Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report: On Thursday, 4th inst., we held a successful sale of dairy stock on account of Mr Ken Easton, Foxton, when we offered a herd of 76 springing cows and cows 'in milk. The cows were in good condition and we have to report a good sale especially •£or cows just in or close to profit. We quote: Best springing cows, £B, £8 10s, £9, £9 10s, £lO 10s, £ll, £l2, £l3 5s to £l3 10s; later calvers, £3, £5, £6, £7 to £7 10s; cows just calved, £2 10s, £3, £4, £5, £6, £6 10s, £6 15s, £7 10s, £8 ss, £9, £lO, £lO 10s, £ll, £l2 to £l4 17s 6d; milking machines, £96 and £SO; s.f. lever plough, £2l; d.f. plough, £9 ss; manure distributor, £2O; spring dray, £lO 10s; harness, £7; horse, £7.
