The following Shannon boys have been selected for the northern representative team to play southern at an oarlv date: Saxon, Jude, Tremewan Roach, Christian, Booker. Emergencies: Croon, Mason, Lester, The match will be ployed at Levin on a date to be arranged.

The' representatives of the Shannon and Ohaii primary schools met on the Shannon Domain on Saturday morning and those who were present witnessed an evenly contested game The visiting team were much heavier than the local lads, and playing with the wind in their favour in the first spell, had their opponents on the defensive most of the time. The Ohau backs on several occasions indulged in some good passing bouts and from two of these Campbell, who was the mainstay of the back division, crossed the line and scored. The first try was converted by Taha. When the spell ended they were leading by 8 to nil. On changing over, the order of play was reversed, Shannon doing most of the, attacking. Play had hot been in progress long when Saxon,

Croon and Roach, handling the ball in good style, raced through their opponents, the latter scoring. On the ball going, into play Shannon worked their way back to the 25, where from a scrum Christian, who had been conspicuous in the loose throughout, broke away with the ball at his toe and scored. Jude failed to add the extra points. Shannon was now striving haul to gain the lead, but Ohau held tlTem until just on the call of time, when Roach, getting possession, sent it on to Tremewan, who beat the opposition and scored a good try, thus giving the victory to Shannon. Jude’s kick at goal was a good attempt, the ball going just outside the post. Mr Warman refereed.
