On Saturday last it was noticeable that the Ilorowhenua team were showing the effects of their hard game on the Wednesday. The secretary said it should be point*, ed out, in fairness to the selector, that the Bush game was fixed for July 13th and the next rep. game wgs not to come on till the 23rd, but the arrangement was altered to suit- the New Zealand Union.
Mr Winiata expressed the view that a' week between rep. matches was a sufficiently short interval.
Mr Robinson said he did not remember having seen the local team go out so stale-looking as on Saturday last. It Avas decided to inform the Rangi tikei Sub-Union, that oAying to the Manawhenua programme, it was impossible to accept the challenge.

The chairman said the Manawatu body was not bound to supply refreshments. Mr Rimmer said it should be pointed out to the Manawatu Council that the best interests of football could not be served by bleeding the game, but by endeavouring to develop the social side of football. Mr Winiata said that the Manawatu Council were doing their duty by providing lunch, but the matter of supplying refreshments after the match was merely one of courtesy.
