An application was received by the Horowhenua County Council to-day from Mr E. N. Budden, secretary of the Manawatu provincial executive lof the Farmers’ Union, for the Use of the Council’s board room for meetings, which will be held alternately in Levin and Palmerston. The first meeting in Levin is fixed for August. The chairman (Cr. Monk) pointed out that there were three local bodies concerned in the use of the Council Chamber, and it was understood that it should be confined to those bodies. The Band Boom should be. a suitable place for the meetings of the executive. It Was left to the County Clerk to write to the executive and suggest a suitable room other than the Council Chamber. . The chairman remarked that the councillors would be very pleased to see the executive meet in Levin, and would assist it to the best of their ability.
