Representative fixtures were considered at a meeting of the Manawatu Rugby District Council on Tuesday evenin .On July 16, a return match will be played between Manawatu and Horowhenua at Palmerston, prior to choosing the combined Manawhenua team. The council, in response to a communication from the Horowhenua Union, decided to suggest the same date tor a junior game between the two districts, to be played as a curtain-raiser to the senior representative fixture. In reference to a suggestion from the Wellington Union that a junior game should be played between Wellington and Manawatu, the council decided to ask Horowhenua to join in putting in the field a combined team against Wellington. It was also decided to invite Wellington to .send a fourth grade team to meet the Manawatu third grade representatives on July 23, the match to be a curtain-raiser to the game between Manawhenua and the New Zealand Maori team. PROGRAMME- OF GAMES. The following programme of representative games between Manawatu, Horowhenua and combined Manawhenua teams and other, provinces will be played. July 13 —Horowhenua v. Bush, at Levin . July 1-6 —Manawatu v. Horowhenua, at Palmerston. ,' J July 20—Manawhenua v. Waifarapa, atPalmerston. 1
