TO CLEAN FURS
To clean dark furs warm a quantity of bran in a pan, taking care that 16 does not burn. When well warmed rub it thoroughly into the fur with the hand; repeat this two or three times, then shake the fur and giv e it a sharp brushing until free from dust. When it is necessary to strip the fur articles of their stuffing and binding, lay them as flat as possible. Then brush them with a stiff clothes brush. After this any moth-eaten parts may bo cut out and neatly replaced by new bits of fur to matclu To clean light furs, ermine etc., lay the fur on a table, rub it well and dry flour or bran made moise with warm water; rub until quite dry, and afterwards with dry bran. bran should be put on with flannel, and the dry with a piece of book muslin. The light furs, in addition to the above, should be well rubbed with magnesia or*, a. piece of book muslin after the bran> process. Rub the way of the fur.
