SHANNON CHORAL SOCIETY.
As announced the Shannon Choral Society’es concert is to be the best yet, and a perusal of programme in large advertisement in this issue should justify the claim. Beside such good visiting artists as Miss Joan Lowry and Miss Ivy Middlemiss, who are star performers,” the Society has secured the help of Mr. Doug. Stark of Wellington, who is a born humourist, and Scotch at that —so those patrons who may find Choral work to be a little heavy at times will appreciate the innovation. The Society has grown, and there will be about 50 members in the choir. They are giving six items and will be able’ to show the contrasts in light and shade.
The tickets are selling well, and seats can be reserved at Mrs Kawlinson’s without extra fee. There should be a full house, for such a society deservis the help and assistance of the public in town and district. All the society desires is to nay its way, and it is prepared to assist in any good cause.
