"ON THE NEVER.”
HOW IT IS DONE. TAKE A JEKSEY AND SEE THE HATCH. At the meeting of the Horowhehua Rugby District Council last evening, a complaint was made by Mr W. Neville that the Councilwas losing gate money at Foxton through persons posing as placers or emergencies and walking through the gates with jerseys over their arms, or carrying football boots. Some of them had never played football in ' their lives. He urged that passes be issued for players engaged in matches, so that the gatekeepers could maintain a check over unauthorised people entering free of charge. Mr W. Eobson said that at a match in Shannon last year he counted 33 juniors who T/vere passed, into the grounds to a match in which they were not playing. Each of them had something—a jersey, a bag, or a pair of boots. When a player was knocked out that day, there was not an emergency on the line to put in his place. Mr T. Wrigley pointed out that most Unions issued passes for player^. Mr S. Austin stated that the Foxton gate receipts were behind what they were last season up to this stage. It was left to the chairman (Mr J. J. O’Connor), the secretary (Mr J. Casey) and .the treasurer (Mr J. W. Kimmer) to go into the matter of having passes printed, to be issued to the clubs for players engaged in matches.
