LEVIN GOLF CLUB.

MATCH AGAINST SHANNON.

A team from the Shannon Golf Club visited the Heatherlea links on Saturday, and played a match over 18 holes against the Levin Club. The result was that the home players won nine games and lost two. Although the weather was cold, the outing was an enjoyable one, as the conditions were nice and clear during . the afternoon. The visitors, as well as the local players, were pleased with the quality of the new 18-hole course; and favourable comments were also bestowed on the recently completed common-room, 1 in which afternoon tea was served. Following are the results of the games, Shannon players being mentioned first in each case: — Murray lost to W. G. Clark. A. Saxon lost to C. R. Hosie. A. H. Morgan won from G. C France. Gagliardi lost to M. J. Suhan. H. Spencer lost to J. D. Brown. Jones lost to K. E. Adams. Burgess lost to W., Smaill. Johnston lost to Dr. Hunter. Blackwood lost to W. Bull. Mackenzie won from C. Sherwood. Caldwell lost to D. Todd.
