ENGINEER TO REPORT ON I SECTIONAL WORK. t jj Mr W*. S. Carter presided over H special meeting of the Manawatu-Orouß River Board held at Palmerston Nort* on Wednesday. There were, also prfi* ent: Messrs H. Barber, A. Seifert, OowH er, R. Tanner, J. C. Harrison; 11. Aker« D. Buchanan, J. Richardson and thH Board’s solicitor, Mr P. E/ Baldwin® and the engineer, Mr F. C. Hay. H The meeting which immediately wen® into committee, was convened for thjj purpose of discussing the possibility ofl proceeding with the “cut” from Opu® Bend to the mouth of the Manawatifi River, in connection with the general scheme for flood ontrol. At the con j elusion of the meeting the following statement was handed to the press fo™ publication: — I “The Board ( has had a full discus* sion on the matter and has come to th« decision that the engineer be instructed! to prepare a statement giving full in? formation upon each section work, to enable the Board to consider doing the most important section or the work immediately. “The question will be further deala with at the next monthly meeting of the Board.”
