MOTOR CAR BANDITS.
FOR.O VAN ABANDONED NEAR PAEKAKARIKI. The Forcl delivery van which was missed from Messrs Boss, Rough and Co.’s flaxmill af Foxton on Saturday morning, at about the same time that an Overland car belonging to Mr F. R. Hoi tom, of Paekakariki, was found sn the Mnnawatu river at the end of Foxton wharf, was found on Saturday evening abandoned on the road between two or thre'e miles north of Paekakariki. The discovery was made by Mr j Iloltom, who removed the van to his 1 oarnoe. Two of the tyres were punclured, but otherwise the van is not. 1 damaged. Mr Holtom’s car, winch has j been left at Foxton, has suffered from the elfcets of water penetrating the , BURGLARIES AT TOIvOMARU AND j FEILDING. . Other burglaries besides thore wlucli occurred early on Saturday morning at Paekakariki, Ohau and Heatherlea, are reported to have been discovered at Tokomarn and Feilding. Mr Webb s store at Tokomaru was entered, and the premises of MeGruer’s, Ltd., at Fei ding were broken into and a small sum of monev and a quantity of weaving apparel taken. In this latter case entry was effected by breaking a window that overlooks the storerooms at the back of the showroom. The window was provided wit-li iron bars, but these wens bent back by the intruder to permit or j liis ingress. A small amount of change lying in the till was removed, but the safe was not interfered with.
