The Hautere Defence Rifle Club mado an application by letter to the Horowhenu County Council on Saturday for a few loads of metal to be placed in front of the hall for the purpose of parking cars; also for the erection of a lamp in front of the hall. The application for metal was referred to Cr. Jensen and the engineer,, with power to act. With regard to the outside light, the chairman (Cr. Monk) stated that the request was for the Council to pay for a light which the club had installed, and the club would run and maintain it. The Council had done the same for the main hall at Te Horo. It was decided that the Council pay the cost of installation of tho light.
