WELLINGTON, Last Night. The New Zealand Rugby Union met to-day and decided that the visit from a Japanese Rugby team would not benefit New Zealand Rugby. The following dates for trial matches were arranged: — ' August 6: Wanganui-/Taranaki v-Weilington-Manawhenua at Wanganui. September 21: Hawkcs Bay-Rover, v Bay-East Coast y. Wairarapa-Bttsh as Napier. September 24: North Auckland-Auciv land v. Thames Valley- Waikato-Bay of Plenty-King Country, at Auckland. . September 17: Nelson-Maribovough-Golder. Bay v. Buller-West Coast, atWestport. .. ! September 24: Canterbury-South Can-terbury-Ashburton v. Otago-North Otago-Southland at Dunedin. October 1: North Island v. South Island, at Wellington.
