The monthly meeting _of the Makerua -toi-ftVnWe'Board' was held yesterday when Mr J. Liggins occupied •the chair Other members present hvere Messrs H.-Akers, R. L. Tippler, 'H.\J. T.'Hume, J. H. P. Liggins, W. B. Gibbons and A. Seifert .

' 'Engineers' Report. The engineers reported as follows on the various works: — Contractor Day has satisfactorily finished the raising of the Kara stopbanksj tForeman' Madden has completed the bridge over Kara stream (west, of railway), and ramps and the HorowtieriUa County engineer has been asked ; to inspect the work'done. fro. 1 Dredge, which has been purchased by the lands drainage branch 6f the Lands and Survey Department, Auckland was taken from its position near Kingston road" to Shannon Railway 'station, a distance of about 13-8' miles. The foreman (Mr W. H. Miles) repbrted having completed 15 chains of protection'work.
