ADJUSTING DAIRY AFFAIRS CONFERENCE DEBATES POSITION At a conference of South Island dairy company representatives, held in the Y.M.C.A., 30 provincial delegates discussed the present dairy" market conditions. Mr C. P. Agar was in the chair. Mr. J. R. Thacker, who represents Christchureh on the Dairy Control Board was present, and his statement that he was convinced that thej board's policy had been the correct; one was greeted with dissent. Mr. H. T. Chapman, chairman of directors of the Central Dairy Com.". pany was asked to contest the board's election in June. He said he could; give no assurance, but would con-* sider the request. ■
A conference member said yester-j day that South Island dairy interests were plainly out to abolish the Con-r trol Board. "It will take a while to cleanu p the muddle," he remarked, "and the work must be done gradiir ally."
